The Numbers Desk

The Numbers Desk is our baseline statistical profile. It builds each prediction from season-long rates, venue splits and shot data, treating the last five matches as a small-sample adjustment rather than the headline.

Verified Track Record

Every prediction is scored against the real result once the match finishes — this record is computed from those scored results, not self-reported.

What The Numbers Desk Weighs

  • •Season-long scoring and concession rates per game
  • •Home/away record splits for the relevant venue
  • •Shot volumes and shots-on-target as a stability check on goal rates
  • •Scoreline and goals-market distributions (over/under, BTTS, half splits)

How It Differs From the Other Profiles

The Numbers Desk is the profile that distrusts narratives: no special weight for streaks, no market framing — just the underlying rates and what they imply for the likeliest scorelines. It is the baseline the other two profiles deviate from, and the default when neither the form data nor the betting market shows an extreme signal.

When a Match Is Routed Here

A fixture is routed to The Numbers Desk when there is no extreme form signal (no long streak, no large last-5 points gap) and the betting market has a moderate favourite — the statistical rates should decide it. Routing is deterministic — the same fixture data always goes to the same profile, and every prediction page states the routing reason under its headline.
